Dear God,

Thanks so much for teach me so much this week and helping me not to forget it or loose my fire when I get back home. As a result of this trip I realize that I need to reach out to people more and share God's good news.

As I was reading over the blog I noticed a lot of comments about wanting to take NOLA back to our home. I wanted to give a shout out to the 7 teens who helped do some "tornado relief work" in Bloomingdale this past Tuesday. Yall took it home!

Matt,

I loved the rainbow we saw in the 9th ward. Now that I think about it I never really saw it as the conclusion/confirmation of our time in the ward. Thats a great insight. Thanks for reminding me to see the Lord in all things!

To all the parents, students and friends who weren't with us - Thank you for your support, blogs, love and especially your prayers.
To all the leaders and students who were in NO - I praise God for our time together. I am so proud of each and everyone of you. When we left I was not sure how we would handle it or what was to come, but I know this was so much more than I could have prayed for. It was an honor to watch and experience this trip with you! To see each of you stretch and grow was amazing and I thank you for letting me come along for the ride. Know that wherever yawl go my love and prayers will always be with you.

Keep the faith

Everybody who went on the New Orlean trip keep on praying for the people in our lives who don't know jesus because it works and i found out the next day that the person i prayed for is know watching church on tv. Also i took him to the sunday youth group and he liked it . I thought it was cool that god called my prayer so fast . Also don't give up on your friends that dont know jesus. My friend john said he is going to come again to youth group and coffehouse. Also everybody keep on doing your devotions and reading the bible.

Hi Cassie. Today is the first chance I have to read or reply to the blog. Thanks for your message. I love you too!

This missions trip was an amazing life-changing experience. I met and prayed for dozens of people. Every one of them had a significant need for prayer too. I wish you could have joined us for it. You would have loved playing with and teaching the young children at Old School.

Dear God,
Thank you so much for what you have done in my life. Thank you for still loving me even after all the things that I have done. Lord, I just want to thank you for the works of your hand and for the lives you helped me to touch this past week. God help me to see when I go home that this is not just a one time deal. Help me take everything I learned here back home with me so I can be a light to everyone in my community.
Your daughter,
Kassandra

Dear God,
Thank you for all the things you taught me this week. Thank you for gving me pateince when everything didnt turn out according to plan or there was no plan. But listening in prayer is probably the best thing I got out of this trip. It has taught me to always listen to you and praise you even when I feel it isn't making that much of a difference. Lord, Give me the strength to do the same thing I did here when I get home.

Dear God,
Thank you for giving me courage and guts to get out of my comfort zone so I could talk to people on the sreets that do or don't know you. Also for you showing me that I should be more grateful for my family and possessions. Thank you for helping me to pray in a big group. Because now I know that I have very good prayers and that I am smart when I say them. I also want to thank you for all the suprises in the past week. I learned something from it.

Dear God, Thank yo so much for this great opportunity. It was definitely an experience I will never forget I have learned a lot this week. Thirst thing is its not all about me all the time. Also your group is like your family and you need to treat them that way. I also found that I'm extremely lucky for the home I live in and everything I have. This trip has helped me become more selfless and its all thanks to you.

Lord,
Thank you for this week. Its really helped me to focus on you and realize again how powerful you are. You forgive and forget. Lord, your grace is more than what we can imagine - Your love for us is beyond anything anyone could imagine. You hurt when you see us sad, you hurt when we are not connected, when we miss opportunities for ministry. You are an almighty God, you forgive us and welcome us back with open arms. Thank you for a last trip with the youth group. Its been amazing to be a natural leader and watch everyone step up when the time is right and have faith. There's a lot of people who know people who need you Lord, may those people be touched by you Lord. Lord as Robert said, Satan is always at work, finding any way to divert our attention, our faith, our walk with you. I pray that you help us to put on the full armour of God every day so that we don't get distracted. I pray for the children that go to the day camps that the groups after us will continue to touch those kids lives and share your word and your love. I pray for my family that you will help me to be an example to them and get my family reconnected. Thank you for an awesome week doing your will. I love you Lord.
Sincerely,
Brian Stuart Jr.

Dear God, Thank you for both answered and unanswered prayers. By not answering my prayer about sin you make me work harder in the other areas. And thank you for awesome friends.

Dear Lord, This trip to NOLA was truly a life-changing experience. Right away you showed me part of your plan for my life when we saw the destruction of the 9th ward and other areas. For a long time I have struggled with not knowing what to do after High School & so I praise you for your guidance. While staying at the AIM base you also le me know that I don't always need to hear your voice to be confirmed; a simple burden on my heart can be suffiecint. Lord, you truly used our group this week by directing us through our ATLs and devos. My utmost hope and prayer is that you will continue to use me in whatever way you see fit for the rest of my life. It is so safe and refreshing to be in your will Lord & there is nowhere else I'd rather be.
-Amen

I learned a lot this past week. First I learned to by more grateful for my family and possessions. Second I learned that God will tell you where he wants to go to serve him. Third I learned to get out of my comfort zone and pray, talk to peopl on the streets. Fourth I learned that I am good at praying in big groups. Know and I did some wise and smart prayers. Fifth I learned that you can worship God by doing two things at the same time. On the trip we did this by singing songs while walking on the street and giving water to people and then talking or praying with them. I think me praying even might have gave others the confidence to pray in a group or out loud.

God reminded me that I do not have all the answers. He also said Im not supposed to. Quit worrying about whats next or how I can accomplish tasks down the road. I found that I should pray, seek His Word and His will in all things. Plan with flexibility- live in the now. Listen for His call and be ready to go when I GET IT.

One big lesson for me is that I cannot control how the teens will react to what we are doing. I can love on them, talk with them, but mainly pray for them and trust in God that His will be done. Be ready when He calls to do as He wants. May I continue to be His servant that is what I pray for myself and I ask you to pray for.

Wow, these past two days have been amazing. Thursday was the last day of day camp. We had the BBQ at Old School after. It was so much fun spending our afternoons with those kids. They have truly changed my life. On Friday we took off early int he morning and took a fairy boat to an island. I realized I could loosen up with no worries besides stepping on the crabs and jelly fish. These past two days were amazing.

This past week in NOLA we did a lot of prayer walking and ATL's. It would always drive me crazy, that we werent actually doing construction or telling people about Jesus. It felt like we were wasting time and not getting anything done. But God really showed me this week the importance of prayer and prayer brought kids to day camp we never thought would come. I am so grateful for this trip and everything it has taught me.
