  7. Glad to hear crafts are doing well. We’ve been praying for you constantly. Your bed will be clean and fresh when you get home. Josh ate cabbage! Hope Gramma reads that!

Yesturday Clarissa and I had our nails done, but it’s amazing how God works. The person doing our nails grew up at Bloomingdale Church, but moved away. We had a wonderful opportunity to talk with her and hopefully will see her back at Bloomingdale Church. You just never know how the Lord is going to use even simple things to his Glory! Remember that in all that you are doing this week.

Be safe as you walk barefoot. We can’t wait to hear all about it.

Max (the dog next door) was looking for you last night. He came to the fence with sad eyes and was whining. I think he misses you too, or he misses the treats you give him.

    Josh – Angus called.

    Love to you all!

  8. Heyy all! Goodmorning! I slept pretty good last night but didn’t get to bed til late because all of us girls heard a door open and thought there was burglar. We woke everyone up and made Matt and Christine check every room. Lexie was standing at the door with a chair. We discovered the door we heard open was just Josh getting up to get a tissue for his scab!!! Well Dad, Mom, Carly, and Nick idk if you are gonna read this, but just wanted to say I miss you guys and the dogs! But I’m having a great time learning, working with kids, trying ethnic foods, and getting to know all of the amazing people on my team. =)

  9. Hello Chicago team.
Pastor David and I used to work in NYC on a Gospel team. The old song we used to sing on the way down was “Lonely people crying in the city, Lonely people do I see, Lonely people crying out to Thee.”
So many people- so much action yet people, children, who are lonely and need a special touch from you as you point them to the One that will fill their loneliness.

We prayed these verses for you and mention you all by name- twice a day.
    2 Tim. 1:7
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

    2 Tim. 2:1-3
You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. [2] And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. [3] Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

We will not be able to write for a bit but please be assured of our prayers and our love.
Can’t wait to hear your stories.

    Love,
    Pastor David and Marina

  12. hiya., today is tuseday and we’re gettin ready to have breakfast so far we have passed out flyers for the vbs thats being held the next week, my group headed to the beach and passed em out. It was a no swim day so there werent a lot of people out, and the ones who were didn’t speak English ( i found this pretty ironic) but there were some that seemed interested on our walk home. Earlier that day we did a workshop type thing on the Holy spirit in Acts. We walked around the neighborhood to see things about the community that stuck out to us. By the time we got back and put together a list of a bunch of things; buses, laundry mats, ethnic food places, diversity amoung people, cars and houses etc. But the one thing that everyone missed was that there were lost people all around us. It was really interesting how everyone just seemed to forget of the people that we were there to serve. This got us in the right mindset for day camp. We had around 17 kids with the majority being k-3, and I think Mrs. Marina would be proud of us because almost every kid was super into it. And there are the CUTEST kids there! Im so exited to start off our day and start up another vbs tonight. Also, mom, I told everyone our our mutual dislike of the good mourning song, so guess what was BLASTING this mourning? That good mourning song., merp., I miss your sarcastic comments that go along with it as we change the channel. I love you! Tell Dad and Bella that I love em too. OH, and my dogs. Well, other people want to blog, so imma sign out, byeee!

  20. Hey everyone! Hello from Family Empowerment Center Chicago. We arrived safely. We had an awesome barbeque with the staff and some volunteers, followed by a time of prayer thanking God for yesterdays Family Fest. We ended the night eating ice cream sundae’s. We are getting settled in, and geared up for Day (night) Camp and everything else. Every night, we are going to have storytime with the Massie’s, and share short stories pertinent to our time here.
Please pray for our week ahead as we interact with many people from diverse backgrounds. Pray that our assumptions would be silenced, and that we would be open to God forming us. Peace!
