42 students. 11 leaders. Lots of food. High energy. Speakers & seminars. Host homes.  Crash worship event.  You put all that together and you get Disciple Now 2013.

We explored the ideas of “grace and truth” as found in John 1:14. Our speaker, Paul T., shared simple ways to live out grace and truth. Students also learned in smaller settings through breakout seminars such as using artistic abilities to create different paintings to convey John 1:14.

I remember one student saying prior to the weekend that they “just needed to spend some time with God.” I told them I would pray for this to happen. That’s what it comes down to at Disciple Now:  students spending time with Jesus and getting to know Him better.

These retreats are not possible without the dedication of small group leaders and host homes. Many leaders expressed their enthusiasm of how their small group bonded together during the weekend.  I, too, was overjoyed to see each student experiencing God and the whole group bonding together as the weekend progressed. In the days following Disciple Now, I saw many students and leaders posting on social media that they had the “best weekend” and were so excited for next year.  I’m excited too!
