In our second and third weeks of SMYG, we challenged the students in the area of giving. After Ben C lead a time of prayer and worship, Nate Kugel challenged the students to see if each person could spare $1 each month to give toward our compassion child, Jehovanassi.
The High School was challenged with the idea of unplugging themselves more often to hear God speak. Gordon shared how it took some time for him to realize what being a Christian really meant, including unplugging from our fast pace life. Tim challenged the Junior High to unplug as well by inviting some special guests to come running through while they were discussing to interrupt the lesson. The goal of this comical situation was to show that even when we do our best to focus on God, it’s difficult, so we must be even more vigilant in choosing Him.
