June 2011

Hey everyone!  This summer I have the opportunity to work as an intern with Daniel, Alberto, and the High School Youth Group.  I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone and being able to watch God move.

Here are some basic things to know about me:

  • I currently attend University of Wisconsin – Whitewater and I am majoring in Economics.
  • I am very involved in Intervarsity Christian Fellowship at school.  This past year I helped organized bible studies and mentored some of Intervarsity’s Bible study leaders!
  • I attended BC High School Youth Group towards the end of my Freshman year of high school and became a Christian my Sophomore year of high school.
  • I enjoy playing soccer, racquetball, volleyball, the piano, traveling, and other various activities.

BC High School Youth Group has impacted my life in a major way.  It truly has helped prepare me for college and live life surrounded by secular influences.  Youth Group helped me establish a strong foundation for my walk with Christ and introduced me to a strong Christ-centered community.  It taught me how to love God and be in relationship with him, and through the many mission trips and service projects I went on I started to learn what it meant to show people Christ’s love.  By following these two lessons, and understanding that I would need to rely on God, I felt fully prepared to go to a secular college.  Overall, Youth Group helped me become the man of God that I am today and has helped me continue to grow in a closer relationship with our awesome creator!

As a result of my high school experience, I can fully appreciate being able to watch the work that God is doing in the lives of “high schoolers” and seeing how God can use them to impact His kingdom.  Like I said before, I look forward to getting to know everyone and I know that God will move.
